We are pleased to announce that potter Bruce Pryor is Gallery on Tracks first artist of the month. Bruce has on display a collection of over 100 pieces of work for display and sale.
Born in New Zealand in 1951. Bruce pursues his dream to become a Potter & arrives in Sydney in 1970. Bruce establishes “The Martinville Pottery” near Newcastle in 1972. Totally self taught at Martinsville, Bruce made his own clay & glazes from local materials & also built a gas fired kiln, and then in 2006 built a large, two chambered, wood fired kiln.
Bruce shifted to his new studio in Bundanoon in 1988, where he works in both stoneware and porcelain using both gas and wood kilns.
Bruce has exhibited widely over the years and is represented in both regional gallery and private (both here and abroad) collections.
Married to Fiona, they have two highly creative daughters Kate (Fabric design) and Zoe (Dancer and teacher).
