“A Retrospective”
Artwork by Ann Rogan
November 2023 at Gallery on Track Goulburn

Ann was born and raised in Scotland and emigrated to Australia in 1973 and settled in Sydney.
Ann relocated to the Goulburn Mulwarre area in 2021 and this is her second exhibition at Gallery on Track. Ann has exhibited previously in various areas including the Illawarra, the Southern Highlands, the far South Coast and the Southern Tablelands. Ann has twice been a finalist in the Goulburn Regional Art Award, also a finalist in the River of Art exhibition on the far South Coast.
The natural environment in landscapes was the inspiration for the artwork in this exhibition and the medium used is oil in some and watercolour in others. I have been painting mainly, in oils, for approximately twenty-five years and studied painting and drawing in a fine arts course during 2007 - 2009 in the Southern Highlands.
Ann is a member of Gallery on Track and Goulburn District Art Society.

Bill Dorman “Steeling Away"

“Steeling Away” is a whimsical exploration of metal, heat and hammers.

Dorman uses over five decades of artistic practice to create a distinctive and offbeat world, where walking boats and islands with long legs are filled with fungi figures. Dorman invites you to join his characterful creations of sculpture and jewellery as they 'steel' away.

Bill Dorman's exhibition ran from the 1st of October until the 29th of October 2023.

The Opening event was held on Saturday 7th October 2023 at 2pm at Gallery On Track.

Opened by Neville Parker, Friend, Artist and Gallerist from Church House Gallery, Motueka, NZ.

Exhibition: September 2023

Transformations By 'Fibre Fun'
Fibre Fun’ aims to provide a working space for Gallery on Track members who wish to explore art through the medium of fibre. e.g., textile art and mixed media, knitting and crochet, wet and needle felting, weaving and macrame, applique, machine quilting and hand embroidery.

The group has members who have worked in textiles and fibre for decades through to those who have explored a new medium for just a few months.

"Transformations " - The group’s September exhibition at the Gallery on Track showed examples of how fibres can be transformed and an individual’s explorations into the broad medium of fibre art.

April 2023 Digital Art
showcased
A Joint Exhibition by Members:
Ilona Abou-Zolof and Christina Brunton

Ilona says:
My art is my sanity. You may think the word sanity is not coming to mind when you look at some of my artwork. For this exhibition, I came up with the idea to paint portraits in the Art Deco style. It fascinates me how we can create something with just shapes and colours.
Christina says:
For this exhibition I have created a series of Art Deco portraits. The Art Deco style originated in Paris but has influenced architecture and culture as a whole. Art Deco works are symmetrical, geometric, streamlined, often simple, and pleasing to the eye.
Creating art for me is a meditation where I am so focused on the artistry that time stands still.

Creative Needles Patchwork Quilt Exhibition

'We are happy to display some of the quilts we have made ready to donate to charity in 2023.
Last year we gave away about 150 quilts to people who needed a little TLC in their lives.
Our small group uses beautiful, donated fabric from generous Gallery members and friends, to create patchwork designs suitable for children and adults, both men & women. Some are picture themes and others have more geometric designs.

We are always trialling new ideas and learning new skills. We bring our sewing machines to the Crib Room every Tuesday and use 2 tables for pinning quilts or laying out designs. It is wonderful to have room to work, but unfortunately the size of the room, limits our group number to 6.

Sale of any of the quilts in this exhibition, will help us purchase wadding for future quilts'.
Frogs' Exhibition by Sammi Sparrow
'I'm so very excited to have the opportunity to show my frogs at the gallery! It's such a great community to be involved with.
My 100 days of Frogs has humble beginnings.
I had been struggling with artist's block due to a lack of direction and being unsure of where to focus my creative energy. I had been creating work for other people for so long, I felt I had lost my creative voice and did not feel in tune with what I was making.
I have in the past taken part in a number of fun creative challenges and thought that would be just the thing to focus my energy on and get me back into the habit of creating every day.
I chose the 100-day challenge and frogs. Frogs are my favourite animal I felt a personal subject would help to keep my attention for the whole challenge.
I created one frog every day for 100 days. I wanted to test myself and asked friends to suggest different ideas and I also spent time researching. The project really got me back into the creative mindset and I had so much fun, I couldn't believe how fast the days passed. I'm so pleased I was able to create such a diverse and interesting collection of frogs!'
