Did you know that Gallery on Track took out the overall Outstanding Achievement Award at the inaugural 2014 Goulburn Mulwaree Heritage Awards on Saturday 13 September? We also took out the award for Best Adaptive Reuse category! Woo hoo! http://www.goulburn.nsw.gov.au/Communications-Info/Heritage1.aspx
Outside was cold but the gallery was nice and warm with all the gas heaters turned on. And thank you to whoever made that delicious ginger cake!
Walter Breceley gave a lovely speech telling the audience how many of the exhibitors started off their artistic journey at Goulburn's TAFE which use to run many fine arts courses -but sadly no longer. There was yummy food and wine and punch. A nice time had by all! Have a look at some of the works on display on the Website under Artist of the Month. Under the guidance of teacher Alison Lawrence, the students begin to learn how to write in Uncial Hand. The course runs for 4 more weeks every Wednesday in the Crib room. As Alison says, calligraphy is more like drawing than writing -and the process is very mesmerizing too! |
